MLB Season is Here
As the NHL and NBA are poised to begin their postseason, America’s Pastime is just getting underway. Spring Training is finally over, and commercials were being run to promote the Opening Day matchup between the Red Sox and Yankees for weeks. While this rivalry may seem overplayed, it is sure to garner the widest viewing audience.
Diehard fans with fantasy baseball teams and MLB tire covers are sure to tune in, but a premium matchup between these two storied franchises is sure to bring in casual fans as well. As more fast-paced sports have hit the mainstream, it has become increasingly difficult for MLB to retain fans and attract a young audience. Adding more marquee matchups to the primetime docket is certainly a good way to start.
