Ravens Get Wings Clipped
Th
e Baltimore Ravens for the second week of play-offs had a good first half, but couldn’t do anything more than that. Last weeks game seemed kind of like a pick up game rather than the play-offs. Pittsburgh took advantage of some timely turnovers and turned the game around. You would think that they would have learned last week when a late interception saved their butts from the grill. So, this time they slipped the tire cover on a little earlier, smothered the coals, and had their wings clipped. Maybe next year they can wake up through the entire game.
Green and Yellow or Green and Silver
Farve is gone and Vick is back. Now the Green Bay Packers are led by Aaron Rogers and he made most people say, “Brett who”. Mr. Rogers he’s not, but he is a definite gamer. It was a great up and down game with all the twists and turns. Michael Vick did his part and showed that he deserved to be a starter once again. He took the covers off the wheels and did his thing. Unless, you count his final throw with 33 seconds remaining. Who wasn’t thinking that he was going to pull off the win? So the Pack is back and the Eagles have flown. I guess gold (yellow) is more valuable than silver.
Brett Favre Injured
For the 41-year old Brett Favre the hit he took from Buffalo’s Arthur Moats may be his last in the NFL. Speculation abounds as fans and commentators alike await the final word on his condition. During the first drive last Sunday Favre took a monster, blindside hit from the Buffalo Bills linebacker that not only allowed for an interception but left Brett on his back in pain. Now people are asking, is Brett Favre done yet?
Ironically, many Vikings fans may hope for just that. Leading the NFL in interceptions, Favre’s performance has been a disgrace of his former glory days. And after the mid-season coach change people are left wondering, was bringing Brett back just another in the long list of mistakes of the Vikings’ former coach? Despite the injury, however, the Vikings brought in Tarvaris Jackson who took the team to a 38-14 victory over Buffalo. Show your team spirit this season with NFL tire covers sporting your favorite team’s logo!
Injured Seahawks Take First Place
The Seattle Seahawks have had very bad luck so far this year. Their rookie Russel Okung had a right ankle injury that kept him out of the game for a few weeks. Now, he has a left ankle injury that is similar to the one that delayed his debut, but not as severe. They are also unfortunate to have their standout fullback, Michael Robinson, out with a knee injury.
Even though they lost two players to injury during the game against the Cardinals, they still won. They may have bad luck with injuries, but they became the top team in NFC West with their 22-10 victory and 4-2 win-loss record. Their fans are proud of them and are showing their support with sports team tire covers, hats, and other items with the team logo on it.
Falcons Embarrass the Bengals
With a 5-2 record, the Atlanta Falcons are a leading team in the NFL. Their game against the Bengals on October 24 tacked another notch onto their list of wins. The Falcons started strong with a 24-3 lead at half, but the Bengals caught up in the third quarter. The score moving into the 4th quarter was Falcons 24, Bengals 25. Falcons leading player Roddy White had the best conversion of his career jumping over 3 opposing players when QB Matt Ryan made a desperation throw toward the end zone.
Despite the derogatory comments and actions of the Bengals, The Falcons embarrassed the defending AFC champions with a 39-32 win. The team celebrated as the crowd left with their NFL tire covers on their spare tires, team shirts, and team cups to remember the occasion.
Big Win For The Lions
After a 10 game losing streak, the Lions finally had a big victory win over the St. Louis Rams. What great plays and the fans were out of their seats more than they were sitting. The Lions seemed to do no wrong and made the moves look astounding.
The fans were partying well after the game with their tailgate parties and victorious shouts being heard all around the field. There was Lion memorabilia all over the grounds of college wear and NFL tire covers. The celebration went on into the evening with fans hoopin and a hollerin “Way to go Lions!”
The Bears WIN!
The Chicago’s defense was not on their game Sunday after permitting the Lions to convert two of the Bears turnovers into touchdowns. With just two first downs on eight possessions that ended in three turnovers and five three-and-outs.
The Bears had only 168 yards in the game even with the rookie running back Jahvid Best scoring with TD runs of only 7 and 4 yards. Best had rushed for only 20 yards on just 11 carries. The Bears made a couple of mistakes early that shouldn’t have happened, which caused the Lions to score touchdowns on them.
After reviewing the touchdown pass made by Calvin Johnson who caught the 25-yard pass in the end zone and he got both of his feet down on the ground, which than the ball flew out of his right hand causing it to be ruled incomplete. According to the rule book it says you have to come down and complete the catch all the way through. Since the ball came out at the end it was a cut and dried call.
The fans have much to be grateful for this win. They have plenty to show off and show their team spirit with their Chicago Bears Tire Covers on their vehicles. The bears have taken over Chicago.
What A Call!
The Lions were just 25 yards from a road win in almost three years.
With a new look for the Lions, they lost to the Bears, 19-14 at Soldier Field season opener.
There was a beautiful pass and it was signaled a touchdown for a few seconds. After a ruling came down they called it an incomplete pass, causing the Lions to lose the game to the Bears.
There was plenty of upset fans and players over this controversial call. The loss was hard to take with just 31 seconds remaining in the game.
You could see the lions logos leaving the field and packing up their things as they drove away with the Detroit Lions spare tire covers single filing out of the parking lots.
2009 Super Bowl Champions!
Miracles do happen. The New Orleans Saints sure proved that last year being the 2009 Super Bowl Champions. What a party it was down in New Orleans after the Big Win! There was gold, black and white shining on everyone tailgating all over New Orleans. Fans were painted up and dressed up like saints and the vehicles were decked out with New Orleans Saints NFL tire covers.
This is definately a Great Win for New Orleans after the aftermath of destruction caused by Katrina. They got back up and did the best they could and came out being Champions. It just shows you can do anything if you work hard enough and put your mind to it. Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints 2009 Super Bowl Champions. Have another Great Year!
