The Lady Seminoles put up a good fight but it was not enough to overcome the Blue Devils. The Florida Seminoles fell to Duke 67-57. To be fair, Duke is ranked fifth in the country and has an impressive basketball heritage.

Said Florida State head coach Sue Semrau, “I couldn’t be prouder of the way we played today. They left everything they had on the floor against the No. 5 team in the country. I’m very proud of them.” There’s always a silver lining: Alexa Deluzio and Natasha Howard played incredibly well throughout, with Deluzio scoring 18 points. My family will continue to drive around town with our Florida State Seminoles tire covers in support of the women’s basketball team.

After college graduation, my buddies and I decided to take a California road trip. We wanted one last hurrah before entering the real world. We decided to follow California’s State Route, better known as Highway 1. It follows the fantastic coast line and goes by many iconic parts of the U.S.

We gave ourselves plenty of time for trip so we could stop into some of the coastal towns like Carmel-by-the-Sea and Laguna Beach. Of course we also made time for the big three: Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. Other attractions we saw were Hearst Castle and Big Sur where we hiked through redwood forests. Perched on the backs of our cars were Kansas State tire covers – just because we were in CA didn’t mean we weren’t going to represent our alma mater!

Tricked out Grill

For Father’s Day, my kids bought me a tricked out grill. This thing is a monster, and I love it. I can roast about four whole turkeys in that thing and still have room for corn and other side dishes. Underneath is a nifty storage area for holding grill utensils and dishes.

The only issue I had was finding a cover large enough to fit this giant grill. After searching and searching for an affordable cover, I thought I would have to sew several gas grill covers together. I even contemplated using a tarp. Finally I found a suitable cover that was made specifically for behemoth grills like mine.

Gas Grill Pizza Recipe

During the summer months we try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. That means we usually eat dinner outside each night, unless it is raining. As a result, I’ve learned to cook a great number of dishes on the gas grill.

The best new recipe I added to my arsenal last season was pizza. I’ve made my own pizza dough for years, but I’d only ever baked it in a conventional oven. With the grill, I had to first spread the dough over tinfoil and cook one side for about ten minutes. Then I flipped the dough, added toppings, closed the grill top, and cooked it for another ten minutes or until the toppings had been grilled to perfection. The whole family enjoyed the flavors very much and I liked the easy clean-up; just put on the gas grill cover and I was done!

The Florida State Seminoles successfully held of the University of Miami Hurricanes 54-59 in their last match-up. Bernard James of FSU scored 18 points, pulled six rebounds, and blocked four shots. Michael Snaer and Ian Miller had admirable showings as well, with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton said, “This was a tremendous challenge for us. We had a lot of heroes but more than anything else, we have got to prepare ourselves for this type of game every night.” As the owner of many Florida State Seminoles grill covers I live for these sorts of close games, especially against in-state rivals.

It was recently announced that three Florida Gators were selected to the SEC Coaches preseason All-SEC softball team. The three talented players are sophomore IF Cheyenne Coyle, senior CF Michelle Moultrie, and junior C Brittany Schutte. Moultrie and Schutte are returning All-Americans.

Alabama and Tennessee led all schools with four selections, but Florida was picked by the league’s coaches to win the SEC. Florida will open At USF-Fairfield Inn and Suites Tampa North Tournament from February 10-12. I expect to see plenty of Florida Gators tire covers in the parking lot!

Gators’ 2012 Signing Class

The Florida Gators received 23 letters of intent and may be holding out for more. Coach Will Muschamp announced the 2012 class which included nine of ESPNU 15 members. Headliners include offensive tackle DJ Humphries of Charlotte, NC and number four ranked defensive end Jonathan Bullard of Shelby, NC.

The Florida Gators also added defensive end Dante Fowler and three-star rated wide receiver Raphael Andrades. Florida is still holding out for Stefon Diggs of Olney, MD who is currently number three overall. Josh Harvey-Clemons of Valdosta, GA still hasn’t sent in a letter of intent to Georgia, so Florida is hoping they can still snatch him up. Regardless of the last two potential recruits, Gators fans should be celebrating by buying up all sorts of Florida Gators grill covers in anticipation of the coming football season.

Storing Winter Tires

Although there are still a few months left in the winter season, I’m already looking forward to the day I can put away my winter tires. In anticipation of that day, I’ve gone out and bought new collegiate tire covers. These covers will be used to protect my winter tires during the nine months of the year they aren’t on my car.

In addition to covering each tire in its own cover, I also store them in a cool, dry place. (Usually this place turns out to be the basement, although if I finish insulating the shed the tires can be stored in there). Proper storage protocol also dictates that winter tires be stored on their sides and stacked no higher than four tires.
